The school of Architecture awards 15 full scholarships annually to qualified students who major in architecture. Scholarships in the school are supported by Southern University Scholarship Awards Program. Awards are renewed each semester following a review of the student's academic performance at satisfactory levels. The School of Architecture Scholarship Committee selects the recipients.
1.Qualifications for TOPS Recipients Incoming Freshmen Must: * Declare a major in Architecture * Be a Louisiana Resident * Meet the minimum TOPS curriculum requirements * Have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) * Have a minimum ACT score of 27 or SAT score of 1210 * Have a 12 semester high school transcript * Have 3 letters of recommendation Transfer Students Must: * Be enrolled full-time in architecture program at the university for at least on semester * Have a minimum college cumulative grade point average of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) (High school, ACT/SAT waived) * Be in good standing with the university Award: * Tuition, Fees, Room & Board * Book Allowance: Up to $600/semester Retention: * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 * 12 credit hours earned pervious semester 2. Qualifications for NON-TOPS Recipients Incoming Freshmen Must: * Declare a major in Architecture * Have a minimum cumulative GPA = 3.5 * Have a minimum ACT/SAT= 27/1210 * Have a minimum 12 credit hours pursued each semester * Have 3 letters of recommendation Or: * Graduation Rank #1, National Merit Scholars or National Achievers with GPA less than 3.5, but ACT/SAT 29+/1300+ * Have 3 letters of recommendation Transfer Student Must: * Be enrolled full-time in an architecture program at the university for at least on semester * Have a minimum college cumulative grade point average of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) (High school , ACT/SAT waived) * Be in good standing at the University Award: * Tuition and Fees * Room and Board * Book Allowance: Up to $600/semester Retention: * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 * 12 credit hours earned pervious
